Congratulations to Desmond and Herleen English, who celebrated their 50th golden wedding anniversary on Friday, June 25, 2021.
After a year of being isolated from their family and friends, the lovely couple were thrilled to gather on Saturday, June 26 at the Marriott Dock Street Hotel.
The Englishes migrated from South America to Philadelphia more than 40 years ago to give their daughters a chance to have the best education possible, and strong start in life.

A half a century later, the lovely couple are truly thankful that they have achieved their goals in providing for their family here in Philadelphia. They also feel blessed to have survived a global pandemic safely.
Together with their daughters, grandchildren and extended family, the Englishes were overjoyed to have an intimate 50th wedding anniversary party to celebrate their joyous milestone.
They enjoyed delicious food and beverages, danced to Caribbean music, and of course devoured a delicious 50th anniversary cake!

There were numerous heartfelt tributes from family and friends who have known and loved the Englishes and their family for many years. Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson also sent a special proclamation in their honor.
Very best wishes are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Desmond English — you are a true inspiration. May God continue to bless your marriage for many, many more years to come!
