On March 13, 2011, White Rock Baptist Church will celebrate 55 years under the leadership of its esteemed Pastor – Rev. Dr. William J. Shaw. Rev. Shaw is well known throughout the world as the Past-President of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., a member of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom and leader of many other religious and community organizations.
Rev. Shaw is the longest tenured pastor in the City of Philadelphia. From President Dwight D. Eisenhower to President Barack H. Obama, through 10 governors of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and eight mayors of the City of Philadelphia, Rev. Shaw has steadily led the congregation at White Rock Baptist Church.
Under his leadership, White Rock has provided spiritual nurturing to thousands, and been a cornerstone of the West Philadelphia community.
White Rock Baptist Church invites the community to attend its worship services on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Early morning worship is held at 7:45 a.m. and morning worship service will take place at 11:30 AM. A reception will follow 11:30 AM services.
Reverend Alvin Love of Lilydale First Baptist Church in Chicago, IL will be the guest preacher for the day. White Rock Baptist Church is located at 5240 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139.
