An opportunity to explore the meaning of life and many of life’s biggest questions
Noted American writer Mark Twain stated, “Two of the most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.” The Alpha course aims to get you closer to the ‘why’.
On Tuesday evening, September 9th, New Covenant Church of Philadelphia will begin its Fall 2014, 12 week Alpha Course. Each week, in a relaxed, friendly setting, participants have the opportunity to explore the meaning of life and the basis of the Christian faith. Questions, that are common to us all, are explored through thought-provoking, enriching sessions.
New Covenant’s Alpha ministry leaders are Deacon Barbara Mallory-Reed and Deacon Rodlin Davis. “Attending Alpha is different,” Deacon Mallory-Reed said “There is no pressure, no follow-up, and no tuition. There is good food, good discussions and it’s enjoyable. It is open to everyone. Whether 18 or 80; whether you grew up Christian or never set foot in a church, Alpha is for everyone.”
Each weekly session begins with an informal meal at 6:30 PM. A lesson/video presentation follows; after which, participants and group leaders engage in meaningful exchange, in a safe and stimulating environment.
The Alpha course is FREE; however, a weekly donation of $6.00 is requested to help offset the cost of each participant’s meal.
