New Covenant Church of Philadelphia hosts Grant Writing Workshop, June 6 -7

Two renowned specialists will lead New Covenant’s Grant Writing Workshop and facilitate participants in developing and executing the detailed “ASK” that is crucial to securing grant monies.  New Covenant Church is located at 7500 Germantown Ave, New Covenant Campus, the workshops will take place for two days, Friday, June 6, 6PM-8:30PM and Saturday, June 7, 7AM-3:30PM.

Dr. Marilyn M. Carr is a prolific educator, administrator, school principal, teacher, grant writer, trainer and researcher having written and implemented federal, state and local grant funding for public schools for over 30 years. She has served in the field of education for 43 years and now aims to assist, train and support non-profit organizations, churches and ministries in obtaining funding for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Mrs. Karen E. Duckett is a retiree from the School District of Philadelphia where she worked as an exemplary administrator serving children, parents, teachers, and communities across the citywide area for nearly 38 years. During her tenure, among her major responsibilities was to implement and monitor federal and state monies awarded through grant proposals written on behalf of the School District. She is now focused on assisting, training, and empowering faith-based organizations in writing grants and securing funds to support the Kingdom of God. 

Through the workshop, the presenters will share Biblical foundations for grant writing; definitions of profit/non-profit organizations; current federal, state and local grant opportunities; current Christian foundations, funders and supporters; and step-by-step process for writing a winning proposal.  Among the many workshop resources will be examples of winning grants, a resource directory, as well as grant writing templates and designs.  Participants will receive ongoing support through follow-up emails and updates for future workshops.  Additionally, continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
