Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in collaboration with Chestnut Hill and Penn Medicine will once again conduct the largest screening event for men in the
Philadelphia area focused on “Knowing Your Numbers” as it relates to health.
Participants will be tested for hypertension, hyperglycemia, HIV, prostate cancer, weight, height and BMI (body mass index). The event will take place at
Enon East, 2800 W. Cheltenham Avenue on November 9, 2013, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Public Health Report 2013 ranks Philadelphia “dead last on health outcomes” according to a recent County Health Rankings Report. To address this issue,
Enon will transform itself, for one day, into a Health and Wellness Center for men in the community to learn their individual health numbers and provide
them with information that will promote understanding, responsibility, and the initiative to be healthy and whole.
This event will be a unique preventive health care collaboration between the church, health care service providers and in keeping with Enon’s continual
mission of Cultivating Community.
The male oriented atmosphere will include barber services, card games, board games, and video game competitions etc. Participants must be 18 years and
older to attend. Transportation will be provided for the homeless population in the city. Health information will be available on: Healthy//Safe Sex,
HIV/AIDS, STD, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, Heart Disease, Bone Health, Nutrition, Wellness, Exercise and Stress, provided by Chestnut Hill and Penn
Medicine Physicians.
Representatives from various health care insurers will be at the event sharing information and enrolling interested persons into the Affordable Care Act.
This remains a completely FREE EVENT! Interviews are 8:00AM-10:00AM
