Grammy-Award winning Gospel duo Mary Mary to headline the event.
Health Partners’ Crazy Praise Dance Showcase and Health Fair returns for its fourth year this Aug. 17, 2013, and this year’s headliner is Grammy-award
winning Gospel duo, Mary Mary. Sisters Erica and Tina Campbell are Mary Mary, and their sound mixes R&B, hip hop, dance, pop, gospel and jazz to send
uplifting messages that are relatable to everyone.
“The Crazy Praise Dance Showcase and Health Fair is our signature event,” said William S. George, President and CEO. “We are delighted to be in our fourth
year of this program and are planning a very special announcement for our community.” While Mr. George wouldn’t reveal any details of that announcement
just yet, he did say that it will be welcome news for the nearly 170,000 members that Health Partners serves, as well as the entire community.
The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees and will take place at The Baptist Worship Center at 4790 James Street in Philadelphia. As part
of the Crazy Praise Dance Showcase, some of Philadelphia finest praise dancers will be featured. “We are always delighted to partner with Health Partners
in this great effort to reach our members and the community to encourage them to maintain health and wellness in every area of their lives,” says Bishop
Millicent Hunter, founder and senior pastor, The Baptist Worship Center. “This event always brings together many facets of our community and is always the
highlight of the activities we have at the church each year.”
In addition, the Health Fair will offer complimentary health screenings, information on Health Partners’ Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and a
variety of fun family activities like face painting, games, a children’s fun zone, giveaways and a special appearance by Health Partners mascot, Ms. Roo
the Kangaroo. Ticket holders who attend the Health Fair will receive priority seating for the Showcase performances.
“Mary Mary’s relatable message is what makes them the perfect addition to Crazy Praise,” says Tashyra Ayers, senior community relations specialist. “We’ve
designed the Crazy Praise Dance Showcase and Health Fair with the community in mind. Our goal is to inspire good health through dance and music and hope
that people will not only enjoy the performances, family activities and health information that will be part of the day, but that they will also be
motivated to take control of their own and their loved ones health and wellness,” she said.
