No matter what is going on in your life, you rise to the occasion every day, whether you’re a playwright finishing up a play, a teacher beginning the school day with a lesson you’ve planned to share with students, a photographer who makes sure enough film is in place for the upcoming photo shoot, or a chemist who knows they need to make sure that the screens are there and the goggles are in place in the lab.
The thing that motivates you to get up, get out and take action may even be that which helps to feed those who are hungry and provide shelter for those who are homeless.
Regardless of whatever that thing is that you do each day in your life, there will come a time when you will wonder what happened to your prayers. Why is it that God it is taking so long to answer? It may seem harsh, but the good news is that waiting on the Lord is key to the success of whatever your desires in the heart may be. Sometimes your desires may not be the vision that God has for you. Those ‘no’s’ that God gives are a form of protection, a covering. And this is truly a blessing, because if those ‘yeses’ were ongoing, with no thought, just because it was what you wanted, then you would continue to be in chaos. You would eventually realize that this is not what I thought this was going to look like, or feel like, or smell like, and you would not be pleased.
While walking in your glory each day, along with the trials and tribulations, the good news and the accomplishments, the downfalls and the failures, you know that life inevitably brings all of those things for everyone to encounter and experience. It is waiting on the Lord that allows you to see what that other side can look like, what it feels like, and tastes like. As you walk in it, ride in it and run in it, your joy flows everywhere, people look at you and wonder “Why?”, “How?”, and “Wasn’t it just?”
Waiting on the Lord allows it to come to fruition. It’s what was destined just for you, and it is what God will give to you. All you have to do is ask and be mindful of the ‘no’s’ and what they represent so that when you hear, feel, and see those ‘yeses’ — wow! It is a feeling unlike anything else that you have ever felt before. Y’all know what I am taking about, especially those out there who trust and wait on the Lord. Those of you that depend and wait on the Lord are living lives in the knowledge of what God truly has for you, while others are just learning about how now is the time to sit back, breathe and wait on the Lord. Until next time…PEACE!
