Join Historic Germantown during the month of December as we celebrate the holidays with a wide array of fun, family friendly programs! Listen to traditional stories, create a holiday flower arrangement, sing carols and see the holiday decorations at the historic sites in Freedom’s Backyard.
The festivities commence at Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion with Dickens at Maxwell on Wednesday December 1st at 5:30PM. Philadelphia actor Josh Hitchens will portray Charles Dickens in a one-man performance of A Christmas Carol, followed by dinner at Avenida in Mount Airy. This program will be offered again on Wednesday December 8th.
On December 3rd from 10AM-2PM, and on December 4th and 5th from 11AM-3PM, visit Wyck to create your own holiday flower arrangement with horticulturalist Nicole Juday. Prices vary depending on the size and style of your arrangement.
Also on December 4th, join Stenton from 2-4PM for their annual Holiday Tea where you can have light refreshments and make a holiday craft. Keep the holiday spirit going at 5PM with the Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust as they host a Carol Sing in the 18th century meetinghouse. Both of these programs are free and open to the public.
December 11th brings another round of holiday cheer with activities at Grumblethorpe. Create a holiday craft and have your picture taken with Santa at Grumblethorpe from 1- 4PM. Grumblethorpe asks $5 per person, $12 for a family or 2 non-perishable food items per person.
