Grace Baptist Church of Germantown 126th Anniversary Commemoration

Rev. Dr. James H. Buck II, Senior Pastor
“Grace Baptist Church of Germantown is a place to come and see that there is still the sacred respect for our music and our worship…We have been serving the local Germantown section of Philadelphia for many years…it is certainly a privilege to be able to serve as the 10th Pastor here at the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown.”
– Rev. Dr. James H. Buck II, Senior Pastor
On Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 10:15 am, Grace Baptist Church of Germantown will commemorate its 126th Anniversary. Grace welcomes all neighbors from the surrounding community to worship with us. The church is located at 25 W. Johnson St., Philadelphia.

Rev. Dr. Jules E. Smith
The theme for this worship experience is “Standing on the Promises.” The sanctuary will come alive with high-spirited choral music and dance from the African-American experience, and a dynamic message delivered by Rev. Dr. Jules E. Smith, pastor of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado.
In 1888, a small group of “prayer warriors,” meeting for weekly prayer meetings, formed the nucleus of what became the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown. To better serve the growing congregation, the church’s first site was purchased in 1892.
Ever evolving, the Cornerstone Laying Service for the new edifice at 25 W. Johnson Street, was held on Sunday, May 28th, 1967.
