In honor of women who make a difference in their communities and in the lives of others, Keven Parker and The Keven Parker Company will host the 15th Annual Mother’s Day Awards Luncheon & Fashion Show, taking place on Sunday, May 13, 1:00 PM.-5:00 PM. at First District Plaza, 3801 Market Street.

Attendees will join Parker and other special invited guests for a lively afternoon that includes a Health Care Pavilion hosted by the Women’s Black Health Alliance, various jewelry, accessory, and professional service vendors, a fashion show, an all-you-can-eat Soul Buffet featuring menus from Ms. Tootsie’s Restaurant Bar Lounge, and entertainment provided by noted singers Carol Riddick and Tamika Patton.

Key to this annual event is the recognition of everyday women who are changing their communities one good deed at a time. As part of his year-long ‘Spread the Love’ campaign, Parker and his team at Ms. Tootsie’s Restaurant Bar Lounge have solicited the stories of individuals who, though always giving to others, could stand a helping hand themselves.

From the nominations, Parker will select 10 women who have made, and continue to make, a positive impact in their families and in their communities, and recognize them as this year’s ‘Women of Excellence’. The awards will be distributed by some of Philadelphia’s other leading ladies, including Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell.

Parker will also recognize the hard work and fortitude of five area young people by awarding them with scholarships to continue their education on a collegiate level. To date, Parker has awarded 35 young people with scholarships, 22 of whom have graduated from college thus far.

Special to this year’s event will be a dedication to Parker’s mother and former business partner, the late Joyce ‘Ms. Tootsies’ Parker, and the introduction of the Ms. Tootsie’s ‘Spread the Love’ Foundation – an entity that will work to touch and changes lives the same way Joyce Parker did for so many years.

Tickets for the event are $55 and can be purchased by calling 215.731.9045.
