On Saturday, July 27 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, members of the C.A.L.M. Society (Committed Advocates Leading Many) welcomed attendees to their 5th Annual White Soirée.
Their purpose was two-fold — to honor those in the community who served young people selflessly and to raise funds that will help to sustain two programs in the Abington School District — V.I.B.E and I.M.A.G.I.N.E — and the adoption of John F. McCloskey Elementary School in Philadelphia, where fans, 500 books and school supplies were donated.
C.A.L.M. was created in 2005 out of a dire need for parents with children of color to find a safe space while learning how to navigate schools in an efficient and supportive manner.
To date, the organization has donated over $20,000 and has served hundreds of families. A good time was had by all!
