
HARRISBURG— State Sen. Shirley Kitchen today said the first of three information and enrollment sessions to help constituents understand and apply for federal health care insurance under the Affordable Care Act will be held Thursday evening.
The two-hour sessions will be held on the following days at the following locations in Philadelphia:
March 13, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Community Room, Shoprite of Front & Olney, 101 E. Olney Ave.
March 15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Orientation Room, Deliverance Evangelistic Church, 2001 W. Lehigh Ave.
March 20, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Community Room, Porter’s Day Care, 1434 Belfield Ave.
Sen. Kitchen said certified navigators from Resources for Human Development and certified Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services counselors from Temple Health System will be on hand at each event to help constituents apply for new health insurance plans under ACA.
People who are not enrolled in a health insurance plan by March 31 are subject to a financial penalty.
People who attend any of the sessions should be prepared to enter their Social Security number, date of birth, employer and income information.
