Philadelphia FIGHT will hold its first “Strength in Numbers Men and Boys’ Health Fair” on Saturday, September 28 from 11am – 4 p.m. at Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, located 2101 Cecil B Moore Avenue.
The purpose of this free health fair is to bring awareness to the often overlooked topic of men’s health.
Men at times avoid going to the doctor and talking about their healthcare concerns. With this fair, the hope is to connect men to the array of health resources available in the Greater Philadelphia area.
The event will also provide men the opportunity of participating in free health screenings and HIV and Hepatitis C testing.
Additional services include job readiness trainings, reentry resources for returning citizens, pediatrics and adolescent healthcare, mental health care, resources for dads, recovery programs, and sexual health demonstrations. There will be food, exciting giveaways, and music.
Philadelphia FIGHT is a comprehensive health services organization providing primary care, consumer education, research, and advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and those at high risk.
FIGHT’s goal is to end the AIDS epidemic within the lifetime of those currently living with HIV.
