Beech Community Services, in partnership with the North Broad Renaissance will launch the Dems Going Beyond campaign to encourage visitors in Philadelphia for the 2016 Democratic National Convention to think beyond the norm and enjoy the history, culture, attractions and convenience of North Philadelphia – during the convention and beyond!
“We know that its normal for visitors to explore the attractions located in Center City and its surrounding area, but we’d like to encourage delegates and visitors who will be in Philadelphia during the DNC to think outside the norm,” states Shalimar Thomas, Executive Director of the North Broad Renaissance. “There is a rich history and great attractions right here in North Philadelphia, and it’s all conveniently located along the SEPTA Broad Street Line – literally minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center.”
There is not only an opportunity for visitors to travel beyond, but to also stay beyond the DNC. Beech International will offer lodging discounts on AirBNB for anyone staying in Philadelphia through July 31. In addition, partnering restaurants and attractions will continue offering DNC Deals through July 31, and visitors will also be invited to the 10th Annual “Jazz on the Ave” Music Fest.
“For 10 years, this concert has celebrated legends like John Coltrane, Ethel Waters, Billie Holiday and Dizzy Gillespie – all who played right here on Cecil B. Moore Avenue,” states Christine Brown, Executive Director of Beech Community Services. “Jazz on the Ave is a great opportunity to celebrate this history and delegates and visitors are invited to attend as our special guest!”
