December 4, 2020: Mom Margaret Wells passed away on Monday, November 30th.
Her profession was not as an LPN, but as a Child Care Worker and as a Home Health Aide.
She had five children: Debbie Edwards, Delois Ramsey, James Ramsey, Melchezedek Wells and her bonus family, Hannah and Sonia Lieberman.
While living in North Carolina she served as teacher’s assistant and aided children with disabilities. She married Rev. Henry T. Wells in 1979.
Together they founded One Day At A Time (ODAAT) Drug and Alcohol Recovery and HIV/AIDS program. Today that nonprofit organization is led by their son, Mel Wells.
Her adult children were very proud of the sacrifices their mother made, working with people with alcohol and drug addictions and people who had HIV/AIDS, even those who lived in her home with her.
To be very clear, they supported their Mother’s vision to help others in need. In lieu of flowers, please support the continued work of ODAAT.
Make checks payable to: One Day At A Time.
