Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center is enjoying its 60th year of service to the community through arts-education and creative community events. This fall MRAC is proud to present an exciting roster of classes and workshops, taught by talented teachers residing in and around our community. We are pleased to have on board with us artists Garth Herrick, Meg Kennedy, and George Nista teaching eight- week classes for teens and adults in painting, book arts, and drawing.

In addition to our weekly classes, MRAC offers weekend workshops for teens and adults in various mediums including watercolor painting, pottery, and jewelry. New to our teaching roster for these offerings are Deena Ball, (watercolor) and Pam Swope (Qewelry). All classes and workshops accommodate all levels of experience from beginners to advanced students.

Children ages three and up will continue to enjoy weekly art classes in various mediums and topics, and will also have the opportunity to join our “Creative Kids Saturday Workshops” for a morning of creative fun. For those days when public school is not in session, MRAC is now offering half-day and full-day “Children’s Schools Out Art Camp”.

Whether we see you for “Date Night Fridays”, at a “Humanities Reading”, or bringing your child to an art class – we look forward to sharing our offerings of Art, Creativity, and Community. For more information and complete class and program descriptions please go to our website at: http://mrartcenter.org/ or call Janice Strawder, Education Coordinator at 267-974-0887.

Fall classes start Monday, September 23, and run through mid-November. Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure your place in a class. MRAC is located in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia at 419 Green Lane, Rear, 19128.

MRAC is a non-profit arts organization, funded in part by a grant from the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. The Center’s gallery exhibits work by members of the Manayunk-Roxborough Artists’ Co-Op and visiting artists on a monthly basis.

Gallery Hours: Saturdays & Sundays (except holidays) from 10AMto 4PM.
