Gary Shepherd’s “Buy Black” highlight of the week– Gilben’s Bakery and Specialty Sandwich Shop

If you like cakes, pies and other baked goods, like I do, you’ve got to check out Gilben’s Bakery and Specialty Sandwich Shop located at 7405 Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia. 

They were recommended to me by someone in the ibuyblack network so I had to give them a try.  What caught my eye, and taste buds, was a scrumptious apple turnover… yum. 

Speaking to two of the owners Kevin Paulhill and Crystal Brown, I learned that the business is a family affair. 

Not only do they make baked goods, lunch (and possibly dinner) is on the menu as well.  Call 215.298.0879 for menu selections and to place an order.
