On Monday, Sheriff Jewell Williams administered the swearing-in of five newly promoted Sergeants in the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office. These individuals recently passed a civil-service test to receive the promotions.
The five new Sergeants are: Patrick Bastek, who became a Deputy Sheriff in 2013 and is assigned to the Bike Patrol Unit; Barry Johnson, who works in civil enforcement in the K-9 Unit, has served in the Sheriff’s Office for 25 years; Timothy Waldron, who is stationed at Family Court has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 15 years; Ronald Jones, a member of the Bike Patrol Unit, and has spent 19 years of service to the Sheriff’s Office; and Marcus Morris, in the Civil Enforcement Unit, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 7 years.
“These are all dedicated deputies who do great work for our office and the community,” Sheriff Williams said. “I am proud to be able to promote them all to Sergeant,” he said.
