Bring your documents to be shredded
Papers cluttering your home? If so, come to Historic Berean Institute’s Transformation Day, Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, at its 19th and Girard Avenue campus.
Bring your documents to be shredded by the Pro Shred Company and enjoy a variety of vendors, food, line-dancing, entertainment and a children’s corner.
Out with the old, in with the new! You can also take a tour of Berean’s newly-renovated facilities and learn about its new community partners and programs.
Need a haircut, but cash is short? Berean’s Tri-City Barber School clinic will be offering $5 hair cuts that day until 3:00PM. The school’s multi-cultural student body provides precision cuts for all types of hair. Berean’s Tri-City Barber School, the only one in the city, offers a state-of-the-art, innovative program that prepares students not only for licensure, but also for success as entrepreneurs in the barbering profession.
“Transformation Day is part of Berean’s community outreach,” explained Dr. Lorraine Poole-Naranjo, president of Berean. “Our next event will be a Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball on October 28 featuring the Urban Guerilla Orchestra. We are excited to be working with several community partners in offering new programs and services in our rebirth to excellence. I encourage people to stop by and bring your documents to be shredded, take a tour of our newly-renovated facilities, get a haircut, support the vendors and have a great time!”
Rain date is October 22. For information on vending call 215/763-4833.
