When Elynn Morgan Waller and Pastor Corey Maurice Johnson officially became engaged on Nov. 25, 2017, Johnson’s romantic proposal at Philadelphia’s historic 30th Street Station was quite a surprise to her. The beautiful bride-to-be, is the 27-year-old daughter of the Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller, senior pastor of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia and Enon first lady Ellyn Jo Waller.
The soon-to be-groom, 28, is the son of Carla Lawton-Johnson and the late Clifford Johnson. Nuptials will take place at Enon Tabernacle East, the church’s main campus located on West Cheltenham Avenue in the city’s East Mt. Airy section.
Waller is a native Philadelphian. She earned a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and works as a licensed mental health therapist. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Johnson is also a native Philadelphian. He earned a master’s degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and serves as a Seventh-day Adventist pastor in Newark, N.J.
