The office of Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. would like to invite you to the opening of the” Smart Center of Child Development & Education” at 3301 Westmoreland Street on Friday, July 23rd at 11am. Colona Roberts, the centers founder has over 20 years of teaching and education administration experience. Ensuring that the innovative Center will have access to a great amount of cutting-edge resources and will foster an extraordinary environment for educators.

Councilman Jones believes that “our children are our most valuable investment, and this venture is an exciting, new chapter in pre-school and child-care.” The Smart Center’s pioneering nature, use of technology, and top-notch educators make it a leader in today’s child development center market.

The first few years of a child’s life are the most important for their primary, operational, and intuitive growth. In addition, to developing character and personality, language, and reading skills are cultivated at a young age. The Center for Early Childhood Development is a powerful tool that can place a child ahead of his or her peers when entering preschool or kindergarten. “We must strive to provide the best educational opportunities for our children, even from the earliest stages of development, better equipping our future generations to compete on a global scale,” Jones said.

“As an educator my junior-high students academically lagged behind. Their language and social skills were weak and under-developed. From then on, I decided to dedicate my career to early childhood education. The early learning stages and brain development are the powerful source and predictor of how far our children can succeed. We can not take child-care and pre-school lightly” Roberts said.

Please join us at 3301 W. Westmoreland Street on Friday, July 23rd at 11 am, to explore and to learn about this exceptional opportunity for young Philadelphians in the Fourth District.
