Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that my mother, Mrs. Audrey Patrick Johnson Thornton passed away in her sleep on the morning of April 8, 2019.
As many of you know, she was having health challenges for some time now, but at 93 years young, she put up a good fight.
We are comforted in knowing that her passing was peaceful and painless, and we remain encouraged by our faith and support from family and friends.

Following mom’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Women’s Heritage Society (AWHS), the organization that she founded 35 years ago to maintain and preserve the historic Belmont Mansion, 2000 Belmont Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
