San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) and PerformRx, a Philadelphia-based pharmacy benefit manager providing customized solutions and adaptable technology from coast to coast, announced today that SFHP and PerformRx will continue their relationship to bring pharmacy benefit management services to over 142,000 SFHP Medi-Cal and Healthy San Francisco members.

SFHP and PerformRx began partnering in July of 2013, servicing approximately 78,000 members in California. Since then, this relationship has experienced significant growth and has led to an increase in both savings and positive health outcomes.

“In continuing our business relationship with PerformRx, we are confident in the knowledge that they support us in our mission of improving the health outcomes of the diverse San Francisco communities,” said John F. Grgurina, Jr., CEO of San Francisco Health Plan.  “This relationship ensures that our members will receive the support they need to access and receive the best possible prescribed medications. We look forward to working together in continuing to serve our members with the best health and wellness care in a fiscally responsible manner.”

PerformRx offers SFHP and its members a wide range of customizable PBM services, both clinical and operational.

This personalized approach, along with PerformRx’s focus on member health, is truly unique within the PBM landscape and continues to be a key factor in the success of this strategic relationship.

“We are pleased to have been selected, and look forward to continuing to serve San Francisco Health Plan’s members with PerformRx’s custom approach to PBM solutions,” said Mesfin Tegenu, M.S., RPh, president of PerformRx. “I believe winning this re-procurement is a testament to PerformRx’s principles and values of providing innovative pharmaceutical care management services with a deep appreciation of partnering with our clients and willingness to treat them with the utmost respect.”
