March is historically Women’s History Month, and it is also National Music In Our Schools Month. The Women Behind The Mic organization has teamed with New York City’s Department of Education (DOE) for a Career Master Class presentation about careers in the entertainment industry for 1200 juniors and seniors titled: “Attaining A Seat At The Table” at The Apollo Theater, hosted by Sirius XM’s “Swaggy Sie” from Hip Hop Nation and The Heat. La Joyce Brookshire (formerly of Arista Records) and Michelle Joyce (formerly of Bad Boy Records) have created the movement/book/lecture/documentary series “Women Behind The Mic” for the purpose of cementing the importance of the women who were the culture creators of the Golden Era. The book has become the #1 bestseller on Amazon due to pre-sales in its category.

Atlanta’s elite, WEtv and ALLBLK fans, influencers and cast members gathered at Silverspot Cinema in Atlanta to celebrate the premiere of WEtv’s “Grown & Gospel” on March 15. Cast members in attendance included Breeann “Bree” Hammond, J. Brooks, Tasha Page-Lockhart, Elijah Connor, Nikkia Cole-Beach and Shana Wilson-Williams. The show’s creator and reality television royalty, Carlos King, was also in attendance. “Grown & Gospel,” premiered March 16 on Wetv with new episodes available on popular AMC streaming service ALLBLK every Monday. The six one-hour episodes follow five, career-driven childhood friends searching for success in the Detroit gospel scene and beyond.

Although he lives in the Tribeca section of New York City, no one ever seems to spot or run into Colin Kaepernick. However this all changed on March 17 when the former NFL quarterback was seen having dinner at the Big Apple’s newest hot spot, Tatiana by Chef Kwame Onwuachi in Lincoln Center. Kaepernick was accompanied by his longtime girlfriend and mother of his child, Hot 97 radio personality, Nessa Diab and four friends. A source told Go With The Flo the athlete turned activist very graciously went back to the kitchen to greet the staff and take photos with them before he left.

Vice President Kamala Harris gave a women’s history brunch on March 18 at her residence in Washington D.C, which was reportedly co-hosted by Glamour magazine. Celebs in attendance included Megan Thee Stallion, Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, author/filmmaker Crystal Mc Crary, Lori Harvey and Nicole Ari Parker. According to “Glamour,” Harris gave a passionate speech about women’s power, economic empowerment, and the importance of passing paid leave.
