According to the Chicago Sun Times, Toni Braxton blames her financial crises mainly on her well-documented heart-related problems that forced her to cancel a very expensive Las Vegas production – leaving her with massive debts. The good news is sources say a number of major music-world folks – including Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs – have offered to help Toni navigate her way out of her financial mess. The singer’s past extravagances are pretty excessive. According to reports, Toni would go on “insatiable” shopping sprees – often buying a designer dress or couture shoes in every color available. She also reportedly plunked down a healthy seven figures for five Mercedes – in five different colors.
The Apollo Theatre kicked off its 2010 Salon series last weekend with “Burnt Sugar Freaks the James Brown Songbook (An Oprah In Progress).” Founded in 1999 by guitarist and noted writer Greg Tate, Burnt Sugar The Arkestra Chamber was created as a forum for New York area improvisational, musicians to explore the totality of black American music and its offshoots in the 21st century. Presented in the Apollo’s third-floor Soundstage, the Salon Series continues October 15 and 16, with Gordon Vordiwell, the alter ego of Bronx-born ex-chorister turned pop culture enthusiast Will Johnson. During the Be Beautiful, Be Yourself charitable fundraising gala, Jamie Foxx told Entertainment Tonight Online about his sister, DeOndre Dixon, suffering from Down Syndrome. The Oscar-winning actor said of his sister’s illness that he can’t “call it a condition. I just call it living…..When she loves, she loves. When she’s mad, she’s mad. When she’s happy, but she always tells the truth.” The recent event reportedly helped raise funds to benefit the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
All the rumors that flew around last week have been denied. Amber Rose denied rumors floating around the Internet that she is pregnant with Fabolous’ baby. Amber tweeted from Paris: “Whoa. I’m not pregnant. The internet is 97 percent wrong about me. I’m not that girl they portray me to be.” Fabolous has previously denied being romantically involved with Amber Rose and stated that the pair are only friends. Fabolous also denied that he impregnated Amber. “Despite the rumor, I didn’t get anyone pregnant,” Fabolous said.
And, Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent are not dating. The E! Entertainment TV Late Night hostess says: “Everyone calm down. I met with Mr. Cent about a potential project. There’s nothing to report yet, I’ll let you know if there is.” A source close to the “Chelsea Lately” host tells Usmagazine.com: “It’s been going on awhile. It’s more of a hookup thing – whenever they are in the same town.”
