Since we’re chatting about Black Girls Rock!, honoree Tatyana Ali looked positively radiant at the awards in a cream and multi-colored gown and diamonds from Philip Press and Prive Jewellery. The Love That Girl/The Young and the Restless star wore rose and white gold Flame earrings, and a rose gold and diamond ring and bangle by Philip Press, along with a rose gold and diamond ring from Prive Jewellery’s Koral Collection.

Big fun was had by all as Great Women in Music celebrated Shirley Scott for her long standing contribution to business and community at Creole Supper Club in East Harlem, New York. A proclamation from Cong. Charles Rangel cited October 3, 2011 “now and hereafter” as Shirley Scott Day. She also received an official letter from Senator Bill Perkins, who was in attendance, and a citation from the office of New York City Council Member Inez Dickens. LEG Records R&B Powerhouse Natasha C. Coward presented Scott with a check from her record release fundraiser for Cancer Awareness. The stellar night was co-sponsored by Healthfirst, Moet-Hennessy USA and Black Opal cosmetics.

Crooner Ne-Yo and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, welcomed their second child last week, a six pounds, 10 ounce baby boy named Mason Evan Smith. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter, Madison Chase Smith. Congratulations.

According to sources, singer Keyshia Cole Gibson celebrated her 30th birthday with her hubby, Cleveland Cavalier Daniel Gibson, and friends last weekend in Cleveland. The happy couple celebrated the big b-day with an ’80s-themed bash at Tavo Martini Loft.
