According to the Chicago Sun Times, sources say Bobby Brown is not happy with how his former mother-in-law, Cissy Houston, writes about him in his new
memoir, “Remembering Whitney.” In the book, Cissy actually disses Bobby for what she perceived as his lack of concern for Whitney. She writes: “I tried to
tell Nippy that I didn’t think Bobby was good for her.” A close business associate of Bobby says the singer “knows where he stands with Cissy and her
relatively low opinion of him doesn’t come as any surprise, but he doesn’t like the overall tone of the book, which he thinks is Cissy’s way of trying to
assuage her conscience about not doing enough to prevent Whitney’s death.

At the premiere of Lifetime’s “Betty & Coretta,” which stars Mary J. Blige and Angela Bassett, Mary exclusively told that her next film
will be joining Angela in Kasi Lemmons’ musical “Black Nativity.” Said Mary: “I just got a part in a movie called ‘Black Nativity.’ I play Platinum Fro and
she is an angel.” Mary joins a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Jacob Latimore, Tyrese Gibson, the phenomenal Luke James and Nas.
“Black Nativity” started production this month in New York City.

Thirteen-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XXXV MVP Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens, will be honored with the prestigious Lifetime of Inspiration Award at
the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration concert on February 1 at the University of New Orleans: Lake Front Arena. The Lifetime of Inspiration Award has only been
presented once in the history of the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration event to Former NFL Head Coach Tony Dungy in 2009, as it is reserved to celebrate
extraordinary individuals who have impacted the sport and community.

The 2013 Trumpet Awards, which will be broadcast on TV One on Easter Sunday, taped January 26 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. As the
guest of Cadillac, I enjoyed a fabulous weekend that included a Media Welcome dinner at the sumptuous Kevin Rathburn Steak House, and the Cadillac
Conversations Media Brunch with Ed Welburn and Don Butler. Hosted by Jocelyn Allen of GM Communications, Cadillac Conversations was an A-list event
attended by chicsters who included Berniece King, the Honorable Andrew Young, Roland Martin, Trumpet Awards Founder Xernona Clayton and several politicians
from the Atlanta area. This year’s honorees included Chaka Khan, Debra Martin Chase, Michael McMillan, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed,
Charlie Wilson and Vice-President of Global Design for General Motors Ed Welburn.
