According to the Chicago Sun Times, there’s an eerie similarity between Dr. Conrad Murray, currently on trial for manslaughter for the death of Michael Jackson- and his own dad, who was also a physician. Dr. Rawle Andrews, Murray’s biological father, died in 2001. Between 1994 and 1999, Andrews’ medical license was tightly restricted after a Texas Medical Board investigation found the previously well-respected Houston physician “prescribed controlled substances for extended time without adequate supervision.” The apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Friday at New York City’s Tenjune turned into the ultimate guy’s night out as Swizz Beatz hosted the club’s fifth anniversary with a Liquid Lightning toast and an All-Star crowd. After spending five heated hours in lockout negotiations earlier in the day, NBA stars LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce showed up after dinner at the Dream Hotel for a hard-earned night out.

Hip Hop legend Kool Herc toasted Ice-T and Coco with Adult Chocolate Milk on Sunday afternoon at Hue-Man bookstore in Harlem. The “Law & Order: SVU/Ice Loves Coco” star and his voluptuous wife entertained the crowd with anecdotes of their love life as they signed their new books “Kings of Vice,” “Angel,” and “Ice: A Memoir of Gangster Life and Redemption, From South Central To Hollywood.”

“Stick Fly” producer Alicia Keys will compose original music for the Broadway premiere of the critically acclaimed play by Lydia R. Diamond and directed by Kenny Leon. “Stick Fly” will open on Broadway on Thursday, December 8 at the Cort Theatre in New York City. Performances begin Friday, November 18. Says Alicia: “As someone who walked up and down this boulevard as a young girl, I cannot describe the thrill of having the opportunity of composing songs for a Broadway show. It’s honestly been a dream come true.”

Congrats to “Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson, who has confirmed he is engaged to model Christina Evangeline. The comedian’s publicist told US Weekly the couple plan to tie the knot on November 11.
