Tongues are wagging that Star Jones tied the knot with her fiance Ricardo Lugo on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and also celebrated her 56th birthday on March 25 in the Bahamas as around 150 friends looked on. Star and Ricardo’s high powered guests included Holly Robinson Peete, Debra Lee, Jawn Murray, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Phaedra Parks, Suzanne de Passe, Bill Bellamy, Tina Knowles Lawson and Richard Lawson and Lela Rochon. The former View co-host wore a white gown by designer Dennis Basso. The two attorneys were engaged last summer. Star was previously married to Al Reynolds, who recently announced he is bisexual……….
A new toxicology report confirms that Prince’s 2016 death was caused by an overdose of prescription pills. Some of his friends have even speculated the pop icon may have committed suicide. The Associated Press obtained Prince’s autopsy report and revealed that experts noted the music legend had an “exceedingly high” concentration of fentanyl in his body at the time of his passing. According to AP, Prince had 450 micrograms of fentanyl per kilogram in his liver. Sources claim that following Prince’s death, various friends and fans assumed it was a suicide by overdose. His dear friend, singer Stevie Nicks, suggested the megastar took his own life because he was “extremely lonely and had no family of his own.”……….
AT&T hosted its 2nd Annual “The Humanity of Connection” at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on Thursday, March 15, celebrating the power of human connectivity and the technologies that chronicle and connect the remarkable achievements of African Americans. Honorees included Cicely Tyson, Michelle Ebanks, Angela Rye and Wes Moore. Dignitaries in attendance included Phylicia Rashad, Wynton Marsalis, Susan L. Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete are this year’s honorees at the Jonathan Foundation’s 5th Annual Spring Fundraiser. The event will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels in Los Angeles. The Peetes are being honored for their work with the Holly Rod Foundation. In 1997, they founded the HollyRod Foundation, inspired by Holly’s father Matt Robinson’s courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Then in 2005, inspired by their eldest son’s autism diagnosis, HollyRod Foundation’s mission expanded to provide support and resources to those affected by an autism diagnosis. Actress, author, talk show host, activist and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete and husband Rodney Peete, NFL Veteran Quarterback, can currently be seen on their new TV show, Meet The Peetes on the Hallmark Channel………
