Russell Simmons has inked a two-year first-look deal with HBO

Russell Simmons
is returning to HBO. The prolific rap impresario and TV producer has inked a two-year first-look deal with the premium cable network, The Hollywood
Reporter has learned exclusively. Under the pact, Simmons will create and develop projects for HBO. The deal reunites him with the cabler that was home to
Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam.

Haves and the Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor” with a festive preview party in New York City. Various press and VIPs packed Dream Hotel Downtown to get a
glimpse of the much-anticipated shows. Cast members on hand to represent the two shows included Tika Sumpter, John Schneider, Crystal Fox, Patrice Lovely and Zulay Henao. Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots”
premiered Tuesday, May 28 and “Love Thy Neighbor” premieres Wednesday, May 29-both exclusively on OWN.

Forbes is at it again! the powerful media company revealed its annual list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. First Lady Michelle Obama came in at number four, while Oprah Winfrey snagged the 13th spot, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns
earned the 14th spot and Beyonce came in at number 17.
