Wearing a Rhea Costa dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Paula Patton hit the red carpet with her husband Robin Thicke at last week’s premiere of the number four movie in the country Baggage Claim at Regal Cinema in Los
Angeles. The actress stars in the flick as a woman who embarks on a 30-day, 40,000-mile expedition to charm a potential suitor into becoming her
fiancee. Jill Scott, Boris Kodjoe and Derek Luke also star in the David Talbert flick……

It’s the thirteenth season of Roz Nixon’s Great Women In Music celebrating phenomenal women. The month long New York City
festival of jazz, blues and soul kicked off on September 24 with a salute to Robin Richie, producer and host of “Imagine That,” a multi-faceted
cable talk show that has aired for fifteen seasons and has featured some of the most memorable names in music, theatre and sports. Next up for GWIM
is the honoring of Rev. Doctor Theresa G. Oliver and Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 1148 Elder Avenue, Bronx, New
York, with a Special Award to Toni M. Carter on October 6 at 11 AM. On October 7, GWIM will celebrate Birdland with a show byMaxine Linehan at 7:00 PM. The celebrating of the famed jazz club continues on October 8 and 9 with performances by Karrin Allyson at 8:30 and 11:30 PM. Great Women In Music is sponsored by Well Care, Fabulous by Roz and Black Opal………..

According to TMZ, Mary J. Blige is firing back at Vision Entertainment Worldwide – a company that sued her for bailing on a
concert last December- to the tune of $145,000 which was her advance. In her countersuit, Mary says if anybody breached the contract – it was
Vision Entertainment Worldwide – because the company failed to provide first-class air travel for her and her crew …..since that’s what an artist
of her stature requires. Mary has no plans to return the $145,000. In fact, she is demanding that the company pay her the balance of the deal which
is another $105,000. Meanwhile, legal documents filed shows that TD Bank reached a settlement with Mary’s Foundation for the Advancement of Women
Now and reduced her debt from $322,000 to around $125,000. The settlement has the group paying back $15,000 immediately and then making 12
installment payments of $9,166………

African descent, Greater New York Chapter, The Links Incorporated (GNY) will host a special reception and preview of the exhibition, Rising Up: Hale Woodruff’s Murals at Talladega College, on Monday, October 7. The reception will take place at New York University’s (NYU)
