Beyonce’ made over $100 million to be crowned the Most Powerful Musician In The World by Forbes. The entertainer even beat Dr. Dre, whose company Beats sold for $3 billion dollars to Apple last month. Beyonce’ played 95 shows and brought in an average of $2.4 million per city. She also dropped her most innovative album yet in December to massive success and is now on tour with husband Jay Z, bringing in about $5 million per show. Dr. Dre came in at number two on the list and Jay received the number three slot followed by Rihanna at number four.
On June 29, Nicki Minaj shut down the city of Los Angeles for an exclusive VIP BET Awards after-party sponsored by MYXX Fusions Moscato at the famous Belasco Theater. A star-studded affair, the event drew in the likes of Katt Williams, Trey Songz, Marques Houston, Clifton Powell, JB Smoove, Stevie J, Mona Scott-Young and many others.
Prior to showing up at the BET Awards on June 29, Rick Ross was arrested on June 27 after the Super Jam Concert in Greensboro, North Carolina. A court had issued an order for his arrest because he failed to appear in court on a previous misdemeanor marijuana charge. The rapper, whose real name is William L. Roberts, was taken into custody after his performance. He was released on $1,000 bond.
Essence All-Star Gospel Tribute Honoree Yolanda Adams is bringing her morning inspiration to the Essence Festival Weekend. The Yolanda Adams Morning radio show is broadcasting live on the Empowerment Stage in the Great Hall at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center from 5 am – 9 am CT on Friday, July 4. Adams is bringing her friends to hang out during the broadcast. East Harlem’s famed restaurant Riccardo Steakhouse sponsored the end of school year luncheon for the special needs students of the James Weldon Johnson School 57. Teachers, Parents and Students enjoyed a buffet styles luncheon sponsored by Ricardo’s Steakhouse.
