Quarantine Billionaire Family Alert! In the midst of a pandemic that has crippled the economy worldwide, Mr. and Mrs. Kanye West have managed to become a two-billion dollar family. Last week, it was announced that Kanye, who is already a billionaire, had teamed up with Gap to create a new fashion line. In partnership, the rapper turned fashion mogul and Gap will create a new Yeezy Gap offering. Says a statement: “Under West’s creative direction, the Yeezy design studio will develop the new line to deliver modern, elevated basics for men, women, and kids, at accessible points.” Meanwhile, Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, sold a 20 % stake in her makeup brand KKW Holdings LLC for $200 million to Coty, adding to her $800 million bank account. Coty is wagering that the reality star’s reach can boost the company’s direct-to-consumer beauty brands……
The Founding Chapter of One Hundred Black Men, New York (OHBM), stands in support of the public apology issued by National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell in regard to the NFL and its relationship with Black players, coaches, staff and fans of America’s favorite sport. Says OHBM President, Michael J. Garner: “We stand ready to partner with the NFL’s newly announced voting initiative and increasing diversity in both the front office and ownership . In addition, the NFL has committed a $250 million ten-year investment to help fight systematic racism. We stand united in creating sustainable solutions with the NFL family.”………
Returning to BET for season 10 is America’s most inspirational singing competition, “Sunday Best.” Kicking off in Sunday Best fashion, the series returns with a live audience and band, from Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. 2020 marks both the 10th anniversary of the show and BET’s 40th anniversary. The show welcomes back Kirk Franklin as host, returning as judges are Erica Campbell, Kelly Price and Jonathan McReynolds. “Sunday Best” returns July 5 at 8 pm ET/PT on BET. ……….
