Readers and movie goers have continued to embrace the strong word-of-mouth on Steve Harvey’s best-seller Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man and its chart-topping movie adaptation, as the book and movie repeat at number one, atop the New York Times Best Sellers List and the box office for a second consecutive weekend. Says the comedian/radio host/best-selling author and Family Feud host: “This has been an unbelievable blessing and I want to than everyone for supporting the movie and the book….Because it definitely would not be happening without the fans!”

“NCIS:LA” star LL Cool J was in Dallas on April 28 to support his wife, Simone, as she presented a trunk show for her jewelry line, Simone I. Smith, at Neiman Marcus at the Northpark Mall. Her collection includes hoop earrings, cuff bracelets and gorgeous lollipop charms called “A Sweet Touch of Hope.” The charms symbolize her lollipop tattoo that looked like a bite had been taken out of it following Simone’s surgery for cancer. 10 percent of the purchase price of the line will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

According to YUMF, word on the streets is Nene Leakes is about to be rich. A very reliable source claims the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has been secretly working behind closed doors to star in her sitcom. The details are sketchy, but the reality star has been flying back and forth between New York and Los Angeles ironing things out.

Foreclosure Forensic Investigators are going to launch a tour to commence in May throughout Florida to educate homeowners on how to save their homes. The company’s mission is to keep families in the communities, educate them and arm those families with the tools to bring into the courtroom. An average of 83,000 families lose their homes every month according to the FDIC. “This foreclosure crisis is becoming more like an epidemic, we aren’t saying we are the cure, but we are saying that we can help create a cure together,” said Joseph Stephens, founder of Foreclosure Fraud Investigators.

Power couple Salim and Mara Brock-Akil are the featured guests for the “A Conversation With” discussion at the 16th Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Presented by BlackAtlas.com from American Airlines, this special panel will take place on Friday, June 22 from 12:00 noon-1:30 pm at the Ritz Carlton South Beach hotel. The husband and wife team, who founded Akil productions, in 2000, instantly broke ground when the company created CW’s hit, Girlfriends. In 2006, the sitcom The Game, which now airs on BET Networks, was also created by Akil Productions. Says Jeff Friday, Founder and CEO of ABFF: “This year’s “A Conversation With” is special because we have two guests with individual stories and experiences. Yet as a married couple, the Akils also bring a very unique perspective about surviving the many pitfalls of the industry and being successful as a team.”
