Oprah Winfrey recently increased her real estate portfolio in Hawaii. KITV4 reported that the billionaire media mogul bought 870 acres of land in several different sales for a total of $6.6 million in the Kula area of Maui. According to Maui Now,  Winfrey purchased about 520 acres for $2,5 million, from Hawaii-based Ulupalakua Ranch. The outlet also reported the talk show titan paid about $100,000 for the other 20 acres in separate transactions. Winfrey already owned over 1,000 acres of property in Kula and is one of the largest landowners in Maui.

Rev. Al Sharpton will honor Tyler Perry with the President’s Award at the Keepers of the Dream Awards on April 12. Perry’s humanitarian work has been just as impactful as his career in entertainment. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Perry stepped in to help those in need, including purchasing grocery store gift cards for police to hand out to Atlanta communities in need, covering travel expenses for George Floyd’s family for his funeral service and more. “Tyler Perry embodies what the American Dream should be. This is a Black man who took his skill with the pen and turned it into a business empire the likes of which we’ve never seen,” said Rev. Al Sharpton, founder and president of the National Action Network [NAN].

Following his recent performance at the Academy Awards on March 12, it has been announced that Lenny Kravitz will host the 2023 iHeart Radio Music Awards. According to UPI, the four-time Grammy award-winner will also perform. Kravitz said, “I’m thrilled to host and perform at the 2023 iHeart Radio Music Awards to celebrate the best in music.” Lizzo, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift lead the nominations with seven each. The iHeart Radio Music Awards will air live on Fox at 8 p.m. EDT on March 27.
