The Prostate Cancer Foundation Tour hosted the 13th Annual Charles Evans PCF PRO-AM Tennis Tournament with a special performance by Kool and the Gang recently at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York. Notable attendees included founder of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, billionaire Michael Milken, Dr. Francis Collins (Director of the National Institute of Health) and David Shulkin (Secretary of Veterans Affairs). Kool and the Gang performed a medley of their hits………

Dan Gilroy’s legal thriller “Roman J. Israel, Esquire”, starring Denzel Washington will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, according to Deadline Hollywood. Set in the underbelly of the overburdened Los Angeles criminal court system, Washington’s Roman J. Israel sees his life upended when a turbulent series of events challenge the activism that has defined his career. The movie also reteams the twice-Oscar winning actor with lead financiers MACRO and Bron Studios……..

According to reports, Houston rapper Bun B has organized a telethon to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The telethon will take place in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, is at the helm of the event. Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton will host the telecast from Nashville, with Texas born Jamie Foxx, doing hosting duties from Los Angeles. Michael Strahan, who is a native of Houston, will host the New York City portion. Sources say the organizers are also attempting to lock in Kelly Rowland, who of course, grew up in Houston with Beyonce. The major networks will run the show in primetime for one hour…….

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington recently hosted a Los Angeles screening of the film “Crown Heights,” in which her husband, retired NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, stars in, alongside Lakeith Stanfield. Asomugha plays Carl ‘KC’ King in the drama about Colin Warner, a man who was wrongfully imprisoned for a murder. The former NFL cornerback is also a producer on the project. Asomugha spent the last few years slowly transitioning into film after a seven-year NFL career in which he was considered one of the best defensive backs in football……..
