According to reports, Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre, has also tested positive for the Coronavirus. Her Golden Globe-winning husband tested positive the previous week after being in close contact with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Trudeau, who also has the virus. On March 21, Sabrina told Oprah Winfrey that she and Idris didn’t change the way they interacted. Said Sabrina: “But I made the decision to want to be with him and still touch him.” Sabrina said she wasn’t suffering any symptoms and the couple are being quarantined together in New Mexico. Meanwhile, Formula One race car driver Lewis Hamilton was also on the stage with the group, but at press time, hadn’t been tested.

Dr. Donna Jones, President, Greater New York Chapter, The Links, Incorporated, announced on March 23 the cancellation of its 2020 Women of Distinction Spirit Awards Luncheon and Fashion Show, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 11 at Chelsea Piers in New York City. Concerns around the COVID-19 health crisis mandated the decision. All ticket and table purchases are being fully refunded. “As a civic and social service organization now in our 71st year in service to our community, Greater New York Chapter of The Links remains committed to this work,” Jones said. “The safety and well-being of our Chapter, our families, friends, partners, sponsors and those we serve remain a priority for us. During this difficult and challenging time, we are reaffirming our commitment to advancing the mission of service that is a hallmark of the Links.”
