While last week’s news that Halle Berry and her daughter Nahla’s father, Gabriel Aubry, had called it quits after five years, sources close to the ex-couple say they split some time ago, “but remain close friends and committed parents for their daughter.” In fact, Halle was out and about all over New York City as the news broke, looking like she didn’t have a care in the world. Halle attended the DKMS 4th Annual Gala: Limited Against Leukemia. Along with Coty CEO Bernard Beety, the gorgeous Oscar winner presented Island Def Jam Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid with an award in honor of his tireless work in fighting cancer. Said Halle: “I’m thrilled with my partnership with Coty, a company that has such a great sense of social responsibility, in supporting DKMS in the fight against leukemia.” The following night, Halle showed up at Denzel Washington’s “Fences,” which has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards, with a fine Black man bearing an uncanny resemblance to the actor Leon, only younger. On Saturday, she cheered on thousands of walkers in Times Square and was even on “Today” for the EIF Revlon Run/Walk to benefit breast cancer research. She ended the weekend having a cheeseburger with a gal pal at Rue 57 on Avenue of the Americas.
