Renowned Texas attorney Thomas J. Henry filed a sweeping lawsuit against rapper Travis Scott, as well as Aubrey Drake Graham, Live Nation and NRG Stadium in connection with the tragic event at the Astroworld Music Festival that left eight people dead, and dozens of others hospitalized. Reports indicate a crowd surged the stage at the Travis Scott concert when Drake made an unannounced appearance on stage. The surge soon resulted in chaos as concertgoers were pushed into one another and the crowd pushed its way forward. Travis and Drake continued to perform even as emergency vehicles arrived and responders attempted to rescue those in distress. By the time Live Nation finally decided to end the performance, 23 people required hospitalization, 11 were in cardiac arrest and more than 300 had to be treated at a field hospital site, in addition to the eight fatalities….

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith was feeling generous on the set of his upcoming film, “King Richard,” in which he portrays tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard Williams. The actor and producer gave cash bonuses to his co-stars on the acclaimed drama. The Oscar nominee was reportedly paid as much as $40 million for the film and personally wrote checks out to his co-stars, including Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton. who portray his daughters, as well as Tony Goldwyn, Jon Berthal and Aunjanue Ellis, among others. Smith gave out the gifts after Warner Bros. changed the release plan for the upcoming movie to debut simultaneously in theaters and on its streaming service HBO Max on November 19.  Meanwhile, Smith’s memoir “Will” was released November 9. Sources say Smith ended the first stop of his book tour on November 8 at the Met in North Philly the same way he began his career in Philadelphia — by rapping with DJ Jazzy Jeff at the turntables.  This was followed up by a party in Brooklyn, New York on November 9, and a visit to the Black-owned XTS Tennis Center in Chicago on November 10……

Tongues are wagging that Dionne Warwick stole the show on November 7 on “Saturday Night Live,” and it was technically her show to begin with. People Magazine is reporting the six-time Grammy Award winner made a surprise appearance on the recurring sketch “The Dionne Warwick Talk Show,” in which cast member Ego Nwodin impersonates the iconic songstress as the host of her own talk show. The dueling Dionnes were comedic gold during the brief appearance. The real Warwick also got a chance to spend some time with crooner Ed Sheeran, who was the night’s musical guest………

Grammy award winning R&B and pop singer/songwriter Howard Hewett returns to the international music scene with another smash hit song and video, “To Thee I Pray,” on LaKiva Music, Inc., which he owns. The emotional lead single is a plea for God to comfort and guide us through these unprecedented times. Primed for crossover success, “To Thee I Pray,” touches the heart and soul in the same spirit as Hewett’s classic inspirational genre bending mega-hit “Say Amen” from his 1986 Platinum selling album “I Commit To Love.” Its provocative theme and civil rights-inspired elements add to the mix……..
