Aretha Franklin celebrated her 72nd birthday in the Big Apple with a jam-packed schedule. The Queen of Soul and her entourage started out with an early dinner at Le Bernadin. From there, the group took in “A Raisin In The Sun” on Broadway, starring Denzel Washington and LaTanya Richardson. The festivities culminated with a party in the lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, where guests including Washington, Clive Davis, Stan Hoffman and Lu Willard and Congressman Charles Rangel and his wife, Alma, noshed on King Crab legs on ice, Smoked Salmon, Lamb Chops and Chicken Satay……….
A Detroit judge withdrew the warrant for Anita Baker’s arrest after her attorney pleaded on her behalf that she was never served legal documents regarding the lawsuit. Apparently, a house painter filed a lawsuit against the singer after he claimed she did not pay him for the work he had done. According to TMZ, Baker allegedly didn’t pay him because his work didn’t meet her expectations, so he sued. Baker’s lawyer will represent her next month in court to attempt to reverse the default judgment based on the fact that his client never received the lawsuit………
Bombshell Magazine released its April/May cover recently with actress Zulay Henao at a private celebration at the House of Horology boutique in the Soho section of New York city. Zulay, who can currently be seen in Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club, will grace the cover of Bombshell, which hits newsstands on April 14. The former fiancee of Terrence Howard, Zulay is also on OWN’s “Love Thy Neighbor”. VH1 Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada and her fiance, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford, welcomed son Carl Leo Crawford into the world on March 22. The couple’s new addition weighed in at eight pounds, and measured 21 inches long. According to People.com, with Crawford by her side, Evelyn delivered her son naturally in just four pushes……..
