Brandon T. Jackson has been tapped to star in CBS’s Beverly Hills Cop pilot

Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker met up backstage during the second day of Rihanna’s 777 Tour at Danforth Music Hall on November 15 in Toronto. The ladies co-starred in the film Battleship together and spent three months shooting the action flick. They reminisced backstage after the concert and chatted with all of their girlfriends. When Brooklyn arrived backstage, Rihanna gave her a big hug.

 

Last weekend at Chicago State University, Steve Harvey welcomed a diverse group of guests, educators and leaders including Urban Prep’s Tim King, former NFL pro and entrepreneur Napoleon Harris, prosecutor Kathleen Bankhead, and more. Harvey also hosted Steve & Marjorie Harvey’s Big Turkey Give, where the Harveys arranged for a giveaway of 1,000 turkeys in Chicago to various selected groups and community – based organizations there to share with families in need.

 

Real Estate Magnate Phillip Morrow, President and CEO of So Bro, is presenting So Bro – Pillars Of The Bronx, 40 Years of Building Communities and Empowering People, on Wednesday, December 5 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Honorees at the Gala include David C. Banks, Bob Simon, Pat Simone and Dr. Roscoe C. Brown, Jr. The Corporate Founder Award will go to Citi.

 

CBS has found the heir apparent to Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley. Brandon T. Jackson has been tapped to star in the network’s Beverly Hills Cop pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The dramedy centers on Foley’s son, a cop working in Beverly Hills as he does his part to escape his famous father’s shadow. Eddie will reprise his role as Axel in the pilot and could recur should the project go to series.

 

The Fairfield County Chapter of the Links honored the fabulous Valerie Simpson at their gala event of their long-running service to youth, arts, international affairs and health programs at the Greenwich, CT Hyatt Regency on Saturday, November 10. Simpson was honored for her lifetime of achievement in the arts. Marc Morial and his wife Michelle Miller were honored for their trailblazing accomplishments. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit local organizations: DOMUS House, The Carver Center Foundation, The Bridgeport Boys Choir and Reach Prep. The Links will donate $20,000 to support organizations and their important work.
