One of the greatest moments that occurred on February 28 at The Golden Globe Awards ceremony was actually after the telecast ended. “Best Director” nominee Regina King crashed “Best Actress in a Drama” winner Andra Day’s interview with Access Hollywood. Andra picked up her first Globe for her amazing portrayal of jazz icon Billie Holiday in the Lee Daniels directed film, “The United States Vs Billie Holiday.” The sultry songstress turned actress was speaking to the entertainment show when King jumped into the shot behind her wearing a face mask. The minute Day realized her surprise guest was King, she jumped up screaming. King, who lost out on the “Best Director” statuette for “One Night In Miami,” hugged Day as the ladies jumped up and down, showering each other with accolades. Meanwhile, earlier in the evening, King slayed on the red carpet wearing a Louis Vuitton dress that was covered with 40,000 hand sewn sequins. She also bedazzled viewers with $2 million dollars worth of Forevermark jewelry, which she sparkled in…….
Legendary founding member of the Supremes Mary Wilson, who passed away on February 9, would have celebrated her 77th birthday on March 6. There will be a public viewing online on her birthday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST. The evening is entitled “Toast To A Good Life Birthday Celebration Honoring the Life and Legacy of Mary Wilson.” Top Detroit media personality Greg Dunmore will serve as a host, along with Beverly Banton and biographer Mark Bego. The special guests making appearances include Claudette Robinson, Abdul “Duke” Fakir, Vivica A. Fox, Freda Payne, and Brian Holland, along with three of my favorite actresses — Beverly Todd, Gloria Hendry and Judy Pace……….
American Humane (formerly known as the American Humane Society) has proudly elected renowned celebrity philanthropist and author Jean Shafiroff to their board. She is already an ambassador for American Humane and is the National spokesperson for the organization’s “Feed the Hungry” Covid-19 program, an initiative designed to provide food for 1,000,000 shelter animals.
