President Obama hosted George Clooney for dinner, and now, Clooney is returning the favor. The Oscar-winning actor and longtime Democratic activist will host a 150 seat, $40,000 a plate fundraising dinner in honor of the President’s re-election campaign at his home. The event will be co-hosted by Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg; the movie mogul was slated to host the party, but his new $35 million dollar new home was not finished in time.
Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina is signing on to do a reality TV show on an undisclosed cable network, and RadarOnline.com is reporting that her family is furious. “This show is being done against her family’s advice,” the insider tells the site. Bobbi Kristina reportedly told execs during a meeting: “I will show the world I am not my mother, and will not walk in her shoes down her path. My mother was just normal, completely normal, someone who did normal things. She just listened to all the wrong people – and did the wrong things.” So sad. Speaking of Bobbi Kristina and reality shows, there is a rumor floating that the person who produced Being Bobby Brown owns all the footage and has around 500 unedited hours with Whitney on film and is being offered millions of dollars for it by several networks.
Two-time Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood is starring on Broadway as Stanley in “A Streetcar Named Desire.” On April 7, 80 people traveled six hours one way from his hometown of Petersburg, Virginia to New York City to celebrate Blair’s debut on the Great White Way. Blair’s dad and brother, Frank Sr. and Frank Jr. Underwood, as well as the Honorable Brian Moore, Mayor of Petersburg, were along for the ride. Mayor Moore presented Blair with a proclamation after the show.
The Think Like A Man promotional tour rolled into New York on April 4. The hard-working cast spent the day in interviews and the evening on the red carpet. Prior to a special screening of the film, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, Jerry Ferrara, Terrence J, Romany Malco, La La Anthony, director Tim Story and Rainforest producer Will Parker met with local bloggers at the Sky Room for a casual Q&A. They then headed over to the AMC Empire 25 for a star-studded red carpet that included Steve Harvey, Taraji P. Henson, John Legend and Boris Kodjoe. Think Like A Man opens nationwide on April 20.
