Uber recently teased that it tapped Sean “Diddy” Combs to make a “hit” for its third Super Bowl ad, in which the rap mogul is tasked with making a hit song for Uber One in an upcoming commercial set to air during Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 12, in Arizona. According to reports, Diddy has tapped Montell Jordan, Kelis, Donna Lewis Ylvis and Haddaway to remix their songs to fit Uber One’s Message. First, Montell sings a version of his 1995 classic “This Is How We Do It,” with its first verse recorded to feature the lyrics: “Uber One can save you on rides and eats/It’s kinda sweet.” In honor of the Super Bowl commercial’s premiere, Uber One is offering a three-month subscription to the service for free.
There is another Super Bowl going down — the Super Bowl of Black Children’s Books, which is taking place in Philadelphia. The 31st Annual African American Children’s Book Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, from 1 pm -4 pm. It is the largest gathering of bestselling, award-winning Black authors and illustrators in the country, The 40 participants come from around the country and represent the best and the brightest from the juvenile book community. The event is sponsored by The African American Children’s Book Project (AACBP). Actor Marchant Davis is a participant. He will be debuting his book “A Boy and His Mirror.” Davis joined forces with the bestselling illustrator Keturah A. Bobo to bring life to the story of a boy whose mirror gives him a whole new way of seeing himself. Davis appeared in “A Journal for Jordan” with Michael B. Jordan. He was also nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for his performance in Jordan E. Cooper’s play “Ain’t No Mo.”

According to Essence Magazine, “Run the World” star Bresha Webb married writer Nick Jones Jr. in an “old Hollywood glam” themed ceremony. Stars that attended the nuptials included bridesmaids Kelly Rowland, Essence Atkins, comedienne Angel Laketa Tanksley and her “Meet The Blacks” co-star Zulay Henao. Rowland also played an instrumental role in helping the groom select Webb’s engagement ring. The star power continued as Deborah Cox serenaded the couple. Webb and Jones met back in 2016 at The Comedy Store in Hollywood but were both dating other people at the time. “The Real’s” Loni Love, who was also at the wedding, reconnected them in 2020 during the quarantine, and they got engaged in 2021. The newlyweds are reportedly honeymooning in Hawaii.
Singer-songwriter Aiyana Lee took time off from working in the recording studio on a new album to head to Los Angeles to enjoy Grammy weekend with industry legends. The gorgeous songstress attended Clive Davis’s iconic pre-Grammy party on Feb. 4 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she rubbed elbows with numerous stars including H.E.R., Lil Nas X, and Smokey Robinson, who along with Berry Gordy, was honored as Musicare’s Person of the Year. Lee is the granddaughter of Jimmy Ruffin and grandniece of the great Temptation David Ruffin.
