Oprah Winfrey had a vulnerable moment on the CBS This Morning while discussing her OWN network drama, so to speak.
She admitted she made some mistakes and had she known it was going to be as hard as it has been, “I might have done something else.”
The conversation was predominantly focused on her work with OWN, including her original vision.
She told the audience that her magazine inspired the show.
“That idea is something that had been stirring inside myself for a very long time. So the idea of creating a network was something that I had wanted to do. Had I known that it was this difficult, I might have done something else.”
And she didn’t regret her comments about doing something else. She was for real.
“I didn’t think it was going to be easy, but I did not know – if I knew then what I know now, I might’ve made some different choices. I would say, if I were writing a book about it, I could call the book ‘101 Mistakes.'”
One of her biggest mistakes, she said launching the channel when it wasn’t ready.
In the midst of her rocky network issues, she’s been experiencing some not so flattering headlines, one she calls her favorite, “knocked her off center”: “Oprah Not Quite Standing on her Own.”
But regardless of what could be happening, she remains hopeful and working hard.
