SUNrise: cj speaks… Taking advantage of the opportunities in life

As young children, we tend to have a curiosity about people, places, and things that could be harmful to us. We haven’t thought about what direction life will point us in.  We’re just getting up each day, going to school, hanging with friends and trying to meet our parents’ expectations.  And when we sometimes fell short of those goals, our parents stepped in and reminded us about of the purpose of education, and the need to do our best.

So, with that being said — whether you are about to turn 18, or are over 30, or over 60 — opportunities are always possible in life.  Life is what you decide to make it — then that Higher Being, our universe, can help to bring helpful people, places and things in your walk every day.  It is in the journey of your life that opportunities present themselves: the mentors that you have crossed paths with, the teachers or instructors that may have become your friends, your family members who may have walked the path you are seeking to walk, and strangers who may come to you.

So, where we began as young children is not always indicative of where we will end up in our adulthood. Be patient with yourself, and hopefully, your loved ones will be patient with you.  At times, those loved ones will see things differently than you do.  So do not get discouraged or  fall out and give up, just continue to walk in your journey. It is my hope and prayer that as you journey through  life, you come across the individuals who can help to uplift you, motivate you, guide you, and help you to feel secure despite your mistakes.

Children are about to graduate!  Doors of opportunity are opening up.  I shout out to those that are looking forward to their graduations, as I know my daughter is, as she expects to experience positive opportunities in her life.  Until next time…. PEACE!
