SUNrise: cj speaks… Make a Pact, Reach a Goal

The year is coming to an end, and if you are like me, you may want to make sure you have reached the goals that you set for yourself during 2020 — your list of things to accomplish. If you are not like me and hadn’t thought of doing that, you can still accomplish whatever you may or may not have set out to do for your life this year.

So, what is making a pact or reaching a goal mean?  The definition of a pact is  “a formal agreement.”  The definition of a goal is  “the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.”

Making a pact with yourself is simply an agreement with yourself to do something. Now, when it comes down to what that something is, you have the freedom to decide what it may look like for you.  Setting a goal to reach is almost as simple as making a pact.  Decide on what you want to achieve, or — as I like to say — go out there and get it!  That would be your goal.  When you put the two together, you will make a pact, reach a goal.

For example, there may be an area in your life you would like to see change. There may be a place in your life where you are seeking something different from what you have been experiencing, or whatever it may be that you want to change in 2021 — or just in general.  As you have made a pact with wanting a change, you can then set out to obtain a goal by working on whatever that thing is that you have decided to see in a different perspective.  As a result of wanting to improve, a commitment had to be made in order to see a change, a difference.  So how can one apply this concept of “make a pact, reach a goal”?  Glad you asked that question — let us discuss relationships.

Relationships are something that most individuals desire to have and want in their daily lives. At the same time, it seems today that those relationships are hard to find, difficult and/or challenging to maintain, or not in existence at all.  Many have relationships and are working hard with their pact made with themselves and the goals that have been achieved with others in those relationships.

The holidays are coming along quickly and you can make a decision [pact] to do something different with your family members, friends, colleagues, and your neighbors. Send a greeting card, share gifts of love to show how much you care about another, call that person that you have not spoken to in forever, or share a kind deed of your choice to reach the heart of another [goal].

This process of making a pact and reaching a goal will help enable you to touch whatever is out there in the universe that you want to do something about.…PEACE!
