The Department of Revenue has announced that it will expand its hours to include evenings and weekends during the month of February. These extended hours will allow residents to pay their water bills and taxes (both real estate and business), obtain information and apply for assistance programs. The extended hours are only for the Municipal Services Building location at 1401 JFK Blvd., Concourse Level.

Extended telephone and office hours are: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents must arrive 30 minutes prior to closing or should be in the phone queue at least 15 minutes prior to closing.

Along with the ability to pay their taxes and water bills, taxpayers will be able to:

• Print bills or payment coupons;

• Print and accept completed tax returns;

• Set up new tax accounts;

• Make adjustments to existing accounts (e.g., address change, closing accounts, etc.); and

• Resolve account disputes /answer specific questions (e.g., missing payments, adjustments, filing errors, payment details, etc.).

“Taxpayers will be able to obtain the same services as they would during our normal business hours,” said Clarena I. W. Tolson, Chief Collections Officer and Revenue Commissioner. “It’s a way to show appreciation to our taxpayers. And, residents who pay their taxes by February 28 receive a 1percent discount.”

The Taxpayer Services unit of the Department of Revenue is located at 1401 JFK Blvd., Concourse Level. Information and assistance programs can be obtained by visiting the Revenue Department website at www.phila.gov/revenue or by calling 215-686-6442.
