Up to $13,000 in bonus savings on a luxury cruise, $1,500 per couple savings on a river cruise in Europe, two-for-one pricing, free airfare, complimentary shore excursions, up to $500 in shipboard credits: these are just some of the exclusive offers that cruise line members of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) will make during National Cruise Vacation Week’s “World’s Largest Cruise Sale.”
National Cruise Vacation Week (NCVW), October 21-27, is the centerpiece of National Cruise Vacation Month and encompasses a week of special events presented by CLIA member travel agencies across the country as well as month-long “virtual” or online travel agency promotions throughout October.
For both “traditional” or brick-and-mortar events, often in partnership with other local businesses, and the online promotions, 25 member lines of CLIA representing over 200 cruise ships of every type and size imaginable are providing irresistible incentives to book a cruise. Over 5,000 travel agencies in the U.S. and Canada are expected to join CLIA’s member cruise lines in NCVW this year.
To take advantage of impressive potential savings on all types of cruises as well as credits for shipboard spending valued at $50 to $500, upgrades to suite accommodations, or other incentives such as complimentary shore excursions, free airfare, free hotel packages, deposit waivers and more, shoppers should visit www.cruising.org/vacation/welcome.
There they can find a CLIA certified travel agent, locate NCVW events, and view special offers from participating cruise lines. Shoppers anywhere in the country can visit the participating agents’ individual NCVW mini-sites, view cruise line videos, collect information about special values and book their cruises directly with a CLIA member travel agent.
Last year, over 52,000 cruises were booked through deals and promotions during CLIA’s 2011 online and traditional National Cruise Vacation Week events, saving consumers thousands of dollars.
