The fashion world is abuzz with news that Kimora Lee Simmons is leaving her clothing line, Baby Phat and its parent company, Kellwood Company. The founder will officially leave her brand of 14 years as of September 1. Said Kimora: "After 14 of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it's time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon."

Her ex-husband, Russell Simmons, then tweeted: "Official. Kimora and I are building new brands. Gonna be new fun."

R&B singer Monica is now dating Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown. The basketball player recently appeared in Monica's "Love All Over Me" music video. After images of the new couple began to circulate, Shannon took to Twitter to confirm his romance with Monica and to respond to accusations that the sexy singer split up his relationship with his son's mother. He tweeted: "Monica is my girlfriend, confidante and a strong successful woman that has been through a lot herself, but she is in no way, a homewrecker." He says his relationship with his son's mother fizzled a long time ago.

There is something to be said about genes that we all inherit. A perfect example is artist/producer/writer Bradd Spitt who is a cousin twice removed to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recipient "Fats Domino." And, Spitts' great grandfather, Gustave Domino, a jazz trumpeter, taught Louis Amstrong how to read music. Bradd is unique to his style of musical mix, fusing Hip-Hop along with Metal and Free Style to arrive at a blend of sound that he refers to as "Trap Rock." Spitt's first single "One Thing" from his yet to be named sophomore album is a club song inspired by 80s' Retro Horns not often heard in today's music.

Says Spitt: "This song refers to a night in the club. I'm there for one thing, dancing, drinking anf getting it on at the end of the night."

It was business as usual for Faith Evans two days after she was busted on drunken driving charges in Los Angeles. The R&B beauty was still scheduled to shoot a video for his upcoming album "Something About Faith" on August 23 on Venice Beach. Faith was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint just north of Marina Del Rey and exhibited signs of intoxocation, police said. The Los Angeles City Attorney will get the case and make a decision about formal charges.
